TANK, Jul 14 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Tank Shabbir Hussain Shah on Monday inaugurated the monsoon tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the police headquarters in collaboration with the officers from the Forest Department.
Addressing the ceremony, DPO Shabbir Shah highlighted the vital role of trees in preserving the environment, calling them “the adornment of the earth and a precious gift of nature.” He emphasized that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and stressed the urgent need to promote plantation drives to curb pollution and secure a healthier future for coming generations.
He announced that trees would be planted at all police stations, posts, and offices across the district, underscoring the police department’s commitment to environmental sustainability in addition to its core law enforcement duties.
Officials from the Forest Department lauded the initiative and pledged their continued support for plantation efforts. DPO Shah also appealed to the public to actively participate in tree planting and care, noting that even a single tree can provide life-sustaining benefits and serve as a symbol of hope for future generations.
