LAHORE, Jul 12 (APP):The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) on Saturday released its annual performance report,showcasing significant progress in financial management, administrative reforms and development initiatives during the fiscal year 2024–25.
According to the report,the Board’s total revenue surged to a record Rs 5.65 billion, an increase of Rs 925 million compared to the previous year’s earnings of Rs 4.72 billion.Major revenue sources included Rs 2.32 billion from rentals, Rs 695.8 million from lease fees (Zar-e-Patta) and Rs 321.8 million from non-refundable security deposits. The report also highlighted successful anti-encroachment operations conducted across all districts.
ETPB Secretary Farid Iqbal lauded the effective cooperation of the police and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in supporting these efforts.
In a major push towards preserving religious heritage,the Board allocated Rs 1.13 billion for the maintenance and development of minority religious sites.Prominent projects included infrastructure improvements at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Katas Raj Temples and Dera Sahib.
Renovation work at Panja Sahib was currently in progress.These efforts have led to a fourfold increase in religious tourism, the report noted.
Looking ahead,the Board has proposed an allocation of Rs 991.3 million for the continued development of minority worship sites in the fiscal year 2025–26.
In terms of employee welfare,the ETPB spent Rs 2.05 billion on salaries and pensions during FY 2024–25.
For the upcoming year,Rs 2.384 billion has been earmarked for this purpose,along with Rs 225 million allocated for house building advances and staff loans.
Secretary Farid Iqbal praised the dynamic leadership of ETPB Chairman Dr.Sajid Mehmood Chauhan and acknowledged the strategic support of Federal Secretary for Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Ata ur Rehman in guiding the Board’s vision and operations.
