PESHAWAR, Jul 12 (APP):Metrix Pakistan, a youth-focused organisation based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced the appointment of two distinguished taekwondo athletes Aysha Ayaz from Swat and Syed Abu Huraira Shah as its official Global Sports Ambassadors.
The initiative is part of the organisation’s broader efforts to support young Pakistani talent and expand their access to global platforms.
The announcement was made in an official statement issued by the organisation’s founder and chief executive, Hassan Nisar.
“Metrix Pakistan has been supporting athletes from across Pakistan since 2022. Through this ambassador programme, we aim to help young sportsmen and women gain international exposure, secure sponsorships, and receive the financial support they need to compete globally,” he said.
Nisar added, “Pakistan is home to extraordinary young talent that often goes unrecognised due to lack of institutional support. Our goal is to change that by building a system where merit, discipline, and performance are rewarded. Athletes like Aysha Ayaz and Syed Abu Huraira Shah are not just medal winners they are symbols of what our youth can achieve when given the right opportunities. We are proud to stand beside them, not just as sponsors, but as partners in their journey.”
He emphasised the need for collaboration between the public and private sectors to nurture a culture of sports development in the country.
“We believe that sports can unite communities, inspire the next generation, and elevate Pakistan’s image internationally. It is time to invest in our youth not as a gesture, but as a long-term commitment,” he said.
Aysha Ayaz, hailing from Swat, is widely regarded as Pakistan’s youngest taekwondo champion. She began her international career with a bronze medal in Dubai in 2019 and has since won a gold medal at the Fujairah Open, as well as both gold and silver at the Thailand Open in 2023.
In 2024, she added two silver medals and a bronze in Bangkok and secured fifth place at a regional championship in Qatar. Over the years, Aysha has earned more than 120 awards at national and international levels. Her contributions have been recognised with the “Pride of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” award, the “Proud of Pakistan Award 2024,” and the “Metrix Pakistan Award 2024.” She was also honoured by the Pakistan Cricket Board under its “Hamaray Heroes” initiative.
Syed Abu Huraira Shah, aged 20, has represented Pakistan at various international events since the age of 12. His participation spans competitions in Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Qatar, the UAE, and France. He has secured a gold medal in Malaysia and a bronze medal in France — the latter leading to official recognition by the Mayor of Piossy. Like Aysha, Shah was also honoured by the Pakistan Super League’s “Hamaray Heroes” programme for his sporting achievements.
According to Metrix Pakistan, the ambassador programme is designed not only to promote high-performing athletes abroad but also to position them as role models for youth across the country. The organisation has called for continued support from both the public and private sectors to invest in Pakistan’s emerging sports talent.
The announcement has been welcomed across the country’s sporting and youth development circles, with many viewing the initiative as a step towards bridging the support gap faced by athletes, particularly those from underrepresented regions.
With Aysha Ayaz representing Swat and Syed Abu Huraira Shah continuing his international run, Metrix Pakistan has reaffirmed its mission to spotlight Pakistan’s youth on the global stage — not just as competitors, but as ambassadors of excellence and perseverance.
