Sargodha, Jul 11 (APP):The District Price Control Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Fahad Mahmood to determine new prices for 18 essential commodities.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, the meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including representatives from the Market Committee, Food Department, traders, consumers and retailers.
After mutual consultation, the committee determined the new prices for essential commodities, which will be notified by the Deputy Commissioner Sargodha after final approval.
ADCR Fahad Mahmood emphasised that the new prices have been fixed under a business-friendly policy to ensure the interests of both traders and consumers. He warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the fixed prices. The committee has directed all relevant departments to ensure daily monitoring of markets and take strict action against the sale of expired goods.
The ADCR appealed to consumers to inform the district administration immediately if they encounter any instances of price gouging or sale of substandard goods.
