LAHORE, Jul 11 (APP):The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Punjab held a live E-Kutchehri (e-court) on Friday through its official Facebook page, offering a platform for direct engagement with beneficiaries across the province.
The session was hosted by Director General BISP Punjab Muhammad Nasir Khalily, who personally responded to public queries and concerns during the one-hour interactive broadcast.
A total of 28 beneficiaries participated in the session, sharing various issues related to the programme. Several concerns were resolved instantly during the session, while the remaining cases were referred to the respective BISP Tehsil Offices for swift action on a priority basis.
Addressing the audience, DG Nasir Khalily stressed that the BISP registration process is entirely free of cost. He clarified that all BISP surveys are conducted only through the Dynamic Registry Centers set up at BISP Tehsil Offices across the country. He cautioned beneficiaries against sharing personal information with unauthorized persons and urged them to beware of fraudulent schemes.
He further explained that households already surveyed cannot be re-surveyed for a period of two years, and therefore, repeated visits to registry centers are unnecessary. He also reiterated that BISP is committed to transparency and integrity, and emphasized that “8171” is the only official SMS number used by the programme. Any messages from other numbers should be regarded as fake and reported accordingly.
Speaking on the ongoing BISP Kafaalat payments, the Director General informed that disbursements are currently being made through the retail model. He advised beneficiaries to carefully count their cash at the time of receipt and immediately report any unauthorized deductions. Complaints can be submitted to the nearest BISP office or via the helpline at 0800-26477.
