LAHORE, Jul 10 (APP): At least two people were killed and eight others sustained injuries in separate incidents of roof collapse during continuous rainfall in the provincial capital on Thursday.
According to Rescue 1122 Punjab spokesperson, rescue teams responded to multiple emergency calls as heavy rains battered different parts of the city. A roof collapse at a cattle shed on Ganj Bakhsh Road in Ichhra injured Rafaqat (32) and Ahsan (45).
In Nishtar Colony, Basheer (50) lost his life, while Nabeela Bibi (42) and Tahira Bashir (22) were critically injured in a similar incident.
At Taxali Gate, Rasheeda Bibi (60) was injured when the roof of her house caved in.
Near the Lahore Railway Station, a tragic incident occurred where Zainab (2) died, and Bushra Bibi (25), Afzal (45), and Abdul Waheed (4) were injured in a roof collapse.
The spokesperson added that reports of fallen trees were also received from various areas. Rescue personnel remained engaged in clearing roads and ensuring public safety. However, no injuries from fallen trees were reported as yet.
