185 nomination papers for women reserved seats of KP PA rejected, 77 cleared : EC KP

PESHAWAR, Jun 20 (APP):The Election Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has rejected 185 nomination papers for the women reserved seats of KP Assembly during scrutiny process and cleared 77 eligible for the contest, said a spokesman for the EC KP here on Thursday.
In all 262 aspirant women candidates from various political parties and independents had filed the papers for the 20 women reserved seats of the KP Assembly.
Similarly the nomination papers filed for minority seats of the KP Assembly, 20 nominations were cleared during scrutiny whereas the papers of 53 aspirant candidates rejected. In all 73 had filed papers for the minority seats of the KP Assembly.
The ECP KP rejected nomination papers of 53 women candidates aspiring to contest against the women reserved seats of National Assembly and 35 were cleared for the elections. As many as 88 candidates had filed papers for women reserved seats of the National Assembly from the KP.
