Dera Ismail Khan , Jul 09 (APP):The district administration of Dera Ismail Khan continued its anti-encroachment campaign on the seventh consecutive day under the directives of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government and the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan.
Joint teams comprising officials from the Revenue Department, Irrigation Department, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), and police conducted a coordinated operation in Mauza Dewala, located along the banks of the Indus River.
During the operation, a total of 7.33 marlas of state land under permanent illegal occupation was retrieved. The reclaimed land belonged to the Irrigation Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In addition, 1 kanal and 1 marla of land was cleared of temporary encroachments, which included unauthorized sheds, roadside ovens (tandoors), and kiosk-type constructions.
The district administration emphasized that the campaign will continue in a phased and effective manner. The drive aims to restore the natural flow of rivers and water channels, while also ensuring the protection of public life and government-owned land.
