PESHAWAR, Jul 09 (APP):The Polio Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the launch of a new polio vaccination campaign starting from July 14, 2025.
The campaign aims to administer oral polio vaccine drops to over 158,000 children across key districts of the province.
The special campaign will run from July 14 to 18 in three districts including Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan, and Kolai-Palas, as well as in parts of the Diamer region. The initiative is part of the national effort to eradicate the polio virus from high-risk areas.
According to a statement issued by the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), a focused and robust strategy is being implemented, particularly targeting high-risk union councils.
Authorities are urging parents to ensure that their children receive the polio drops every time a campaign is conducted.
Parents are also being advised to complete all routine immunizations for their children to protect them from polio and other preventable diseases.
Health officials reiterated that the polio vaccine is a safe and effective tool to protect children from lifelong paralysis.
