SUKKUR, Jul 09 (APP):The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) has successfully distributed over Rs 1.79 million in Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) loans to 13 entrepreneurs in Sukkur under the People’s Poverty Reduction Program (PPRP) funded by the Sindh Government.
According to a a release, issued by SRSO Spokesperson, Jamil Ahmed here on Wednesday, the interest-free loans were provided to support various businesses, including kiryana shops, livestock, agriculture, rickshaw, floor machine, cloth shop, and crafts. Before disbursement, the business plans of all selected beneficiaries were carefully assessed for profitability, sustainability, and technical and social feasibility.
The SRSO-EDF team handed over cheques to the beneficiaries and provided orientation on the recovery process, utilization guidelines, and enterprise development support mechanisms to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of their businesses.
This initiative aims to foster self-employment and strengthen micro-enterprises to reduce poverty in rural areas. The Sindh Government’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and poverty reduction is evident through programs like the PPRP, which provides opportunities for individuals to improve their economic well-being.
The SRSO’s efforts in implementing the EDF program have positively impacted the lives of these 13 entrepreneurs, enabling them to pursue their business ventures and contribute to the local economy.
