DCCD meeting reviews uplift projects in district Lodhran

LODHRAN, Jul 08 (APP):The District Coordination Committee for Development (DCCD) meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Minister of State for Power and Public Affairs Unit, Abdul Rehman Khan Kanju, to review ongoing and upcoming development initiatives in Lodhran district.
The meeting was held at the committee room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Lodhran.
A key focus of the meeting was to assess the implementation of special initiatives taken by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for the socio-economic uplift of Lodhran. Members of the Provincial Assembly, including Zubair Khan Baloch and Shazia Hayat Tareen, as well as former MPA Muhammad Khan Joiya, were present alongside senior officials from various government departments.
Officials briefed the committee that under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2025–26, a total of Rs million on 8115  on 11 ongoing schemes, while Rs787 million will be spent on seven new development projects. Additionally, Rs1200 million would be spent on 53 infrastructure schemes, including sewerage, sanitation, road construction, and installation of tough tiles.
The committee also reviewed the Chief Minister’s flagship “Revamping of Rural and Basic Health Units” programme. Under the initiative, 37 BHUs and RHCs across Lodhran district were being upgraded at a cost of Rs 698 million. The program aimed to provide high-quality healthcare services at the doorstep of residents across all three tehsils of the district.
A detailed review of the ADP for both fiscal years 2024–25 and 2025–26 revealed that a total of Rs10349 million has been spent on 48 development projects. This included Rs 7471 million for 38 ongoing projects and Rs 2877 million for 10 new schemes under the 2024–25 development plan.
Speaking at the meeting, DC Dr. Lubna Nazir emphasized the importance of timely and high-quality execution of development work in line with the Punjab government’s directives. She reaffirmed that no compromise would be made on the quality and timely completion of projects. Dr. Nazir further stated that she personally inspected development schemes to review the pace of work, quality of material and construction standard.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Planning) Hafiz Muhammad Zafar and senior officials from the Health, Buildings, Highways, Public Health, and Local Government departments.
