KARACHI, Jul 08 (APP):Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, Farah Naz Akbar, visited Mazar-e-Quaid on Tuesday to pay homage to the Father of the Nation.
She laid a wreath at the mausoleum and offered Fateha at the graves of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan, and Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.
Upon her arrival, Ms Farah Naz was received by Abdul Aleem Shaikh, Resident Engineer of the Quaid-e-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB), along with officers from the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture.
During the visit, she toured various sections of the Mazar, including the Quaid-e-Azam Museum, which houses personal belongings of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. She lauded the QMMB’s efforts in preserving the historical site and its artifacts.
Later, the Parliamentary Secretary was given a detailed briefing on the functioning of the QMMB and the Quaid-e-Azam Academy. She directed authorities to expedite the preservation plan for the boundary wall of the Mazar and assured full support for the installation of a proposed 50 MW solar energy project initiated by QMMB.
Ms Farah Naz also appreciated the Quaid-e-Azam Academy’s regular organization of cultural and educational activities such as Mushairas, seminars, art contests, essay writing, and quiz competitions.
