Govt. machinery capable to hold free, transparent elections 2018: CM

PESHAWAR, Jun 18 (APP):Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (Retd) Dost Muhammad Khan has said all the government’s machinery was fully capable and ready to fulfill the constitutional obligations of holding general election 2018 on July 25 next month on time.
“Our main focus is to hold free, fair and transparent election within the constitutional parameters and national obligations by fulfilling the expectations of peoples,” he said while talking to various delegations including the government officials, traders, and representatives of the lawyers forums, and tribal elders who called on him and exchanged Eidul Fitr greetings.
“We are duty bound to hold free, fair and transparent election according to wishes of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and we took it as challenge,” he added.
“Our objectives is more stronger than the challenges and are ready to conduct election within the constitutional framework,” he said, adding being in the caretaker setup, which had solely formed for conducting the general elections during that prescribed period besides running the affairs of the government without taking side of any one. “We have to intact our impartiality during this short period,” Dost Muhammad Khan added.
To complete smooth transition of Fata after its merger in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, he urged federal government to ensure and expedite provision of all available and due needed resources and facilities to complete this process at earliest.
The CM paid rich tributes to the services being rendered by tribal people for integrity, sovereignty of the motherland and maintained that the tribal were truly loyal to Pakistan and bringing them at par with other cities and provinces, the federal government should have considered its priority no. 1 in term of provision of much needed resources.
He said the release of fund for merger of FATA into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not enough and urged federal government to increase funding, resources and facilities needed for completion of smooth transition of power.
The CM assured that 80 percent of all the available resources would be spent on the rehabilitation of tribal people while the rest of 20 percent would be spending on relief work.
He said a special development package would be highly beneficial for speedy and early completion of transition of power besides bring Fata into national mainstream.
The CM said ensuring pollution free environment to the younger generation, provision of clean drinking water and taking solid measures for improvement of law and order are his other priorities areas for which directives to the concerned quarters were already issued.
To make Pakistan developed and economically strong, the CM said establishment of industrial zones and bring reforms in tax-culture is indispensable. He said portfolio to the newly inducted members of the KP cabinet would be allotted next week.
