Sargodha, Jul 08 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Jahanzeb Awan on Tuesday presided over a meeting to review the progress on Clean Water Project Phase II, payment to wheat farmers and beauty of cities project.
According to Commissioner office spokesperson here, Deputy Commissioners from all districts, Director Development Bilal Hassan, Director Agriculture Shahid Hussain and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said the clean water project aims to provide clean drinking water to the people of Sargodha division, adding that under the project, 105 water filtration plants will be installed in Mianwali and Bhakkar, while 81 reverse osmosis (RO) plants will be installed in Khushab at a cost of Rs 1.16 billion.
The Commissioner also reviewed the progress of payment to wheat farmers, which will start from Thursday. “A total of 1515 wheat farmers of up to 12 acres across the division will be paid through the Tehsil Agriculture Offices”, he mentioned.
The meeting also discussed the progress on the special initiative of the Chief Minister Punjab related to “Beauty of Cities”.
Jahanzeb Awan directed all DCs to focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), revenue recovery, new fiscal year targets and Plus Project to ensure timely implementation of government priorities.
The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners to immediately complete the site survey for the Clean Water Project and submit the report to his office within two days.
