ABBOTTABAD, Jul 08 (APP):To strengthen preparedness for rain and flood-related emergencies, a comprehensive mock exercise was conducted on Tuesday in Harnoi on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan.
The exercise was organized to assess the response capabilities of key departments in handling emergency situations involving flooding and water-related hazards.The simulation aimed to ensure the safety of citizens by testing real-time coordination and readiness of various government bodies.
Personnel from the Abbottabad district administration, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, Health Department, Police, and Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) participated in the drill. Additional Deputy Commissioner Relief and Human Rights, Mr Amanullah Saeed, supervised the entire operation and reviewed the on-ground response measures.
Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted that the primary objective of the exercise was to evaluate interdepartmental coordination, improve rapid response mechanisms, and build capacity for handling monsoon-induced emergencies effectively.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property during adverse weather conditions and stressed the importance of continued preparedness and public cooperation.
