LAHORE, Jul 07 (APP):Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid a heartfelt tribute on the 17th anniversary of the martyrdom of Punjab Police personnel who lost their lives in a bomb blast in Islamabad while on duty.
“We salute the heroic sons who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty and extend our deepest respect to their families,” said IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, on July 6, 2008, nine officers and personnel of Punjab Police were martyred in a bomb explosion during official duty in Islamabad. The martyrs included Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Nawaz, Head Constable Atta Ullah, and Constables Abid Rasheed, Khalid Mehmood, Babar Ali, Shahid Maqsood, Haq Nawaz, Amjad Iqbal, and Qamar Abbas.
