ISLAMABAD, Jul 7 (APP):President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Nasir Mansoor Qureshi on Monday emphasized the urgent need for a transparent, fair, and responsive tax environment, describing it as essential to fostering trust between taxpayers and tax authorities.
He was speaking to various delegations of business leaders who called on him at the ICCI Chamber House, said a news release.
During the meeting, the ICCI President underscored the pivotal role of the business community in driving Pakistan’s economic development through industrialization, job creation, export promotion and contributions to the national exchequer.
“A business-friendly tax system where traders and industrialists can operate with confidence and security is imperative for economic growth,” said Nasir Mansoor Qureshi.
He noted that such a system would not only support business expansion but also contribute significantly to the overall economic prosperity of the country.
He stressed the importance of addressing the genuine tax-related grievances of the business community by simplifying tax procedures, ensuring swift resolution of complaints, and eliminating any instances of harassment or undue delays.
The ICCI President maintained that a streamlined and transparent process would help restore investor confidence and contribute to long-term, sustainable economic progress in Pakistan.
He reaffirmed ICCI’s commitment to promoting an enabling environment for business through active policy advocacy and continuous engagement between the government and the private sector
