FAISALABAD, Jul 07 (APP):Body of a sexagenarian man was recovered from Gugera Branch two days after his drowning in the area of City Jaranwala police station.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Monday that 60-year-old Muhammad Bilal resident of Chak No.53-JB had jumped into the Gugera Branch Canal near Jhal Chowk City Jaranwala.
Receiving information, water rescue team immediately rushed to the spot and started search operation but in vain as the canal has 80 feet width and 10 feet depth.
However after hectic efforts of two days the Rescue 1122 divers succeeded in fishing out the body of aged man near Chak No.25-GB about 13 kilometers away from the incident site
According to initial reports, the ill-fated man was a mentally retarded person. His body was handed over to his relatives for burial after completing necessary formalities, he added.
