LAHORE, Jul 03 (APP):Punjab Minister for Health and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that all preparations for the 982nd annual ghusal (full ablution) ceremony of shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri (RA), commonly known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, on 9th of Muharram have been completed.
Accompanied by Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin, Khawaja Salman Rafique visited Data Darbar to review the arrangements. The ministers also inspected the control room and were briefed by the Secretary of Auqaf, Dr Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari, about the security and administrative measures.
Both ministers also paid respects at the grave of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Hajveri (RA) and offered prayers for peace, prosperity, and national unity.
The Punjab government has invited Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar to attend the main Ghusal ceremony as a special guest. The event will be closely monitored through CCTV cameras to ensure security and order.
Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin stated that the Punjab government has put in place comprehensive and foolproof security arrangements for Muharram and is actively reviewing them across the province.
Senior officials present on the occasion included Secretary Home Punjab Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi, Commissioner Lahore Division Zaid Bin Maqsood, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, DIG Usman Gondal, Additional Secretary Home Ehsan Ali Jamali, and Administrator Data Darbar, among others.
