RAWALPINDI, Jul 03 (APP):The Anti-Terrorism Special Court (ATC), with Judge Amjad Ali Shah, adjourned the hearing for 12 cases of the May 9 GHQ gate attack involving PTI founder, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub, Ali Amin Gandapur, and other PTI leaders and workers until July 18. All accused were ordered to ensure their presence at the next hearing.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Raja Basharat, Malik Azim, Sajid Chaudhry and Javed Kausar appeared in the court here on Thursday.
The PTI founder was represented by his lawyers Muhammad Faisal Malik, Irfan Ahmed Khan Niazi, Salman Akram Raja and others, while state prosecutors represented the government.
A total of 33 witness statements have been recorded in the case so far. Copies of the challans for the remaining 11 cases tied to the May 9 incident, are expected to be distributed to the PTI founder in Adiala Jail at the next hearing.
