BISP retailer deprives 75 women of Rs 1.294m, accomplice held in raid

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 03 (APP):A team of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), led by Deputy Director Javed Shafiq Bhatti, detected a retailer and three accomplices withdrawing over Rs 1.2 million while operating device out-of-the-location; however, retailer with two others escaped during the raid leaving a helper behind.
Police have registered FIR according to which BISP team, in response to public complaints and media reports, raided a place at Wasanday Wali area of district Muzaffargarh. BISP team found that retailer Muhammad Ashraf, Samiullah, agent Sanwal, and helper Faizullah had moved one kilometre away from the designated location in violation of rules and withdrew cash that was meant for the BISP registered beneficiary women.
The retailer and two others escaped but helper was taken into custody.
Upon checking the transaction history, it emerged they had withdrawn money from accounts of 75 women beneficiaries worth Rs 1.294 million. The BISP officials and police took the accused into custody.
Rohillanwali police registered case against four accused under sections 468, 469, 406, 471 PPC and started investigation.
