Deadly blast claims life of promising civil servant in Bajaur

PESHAWAR, Jul 02 (APP): In a tragic incident on Wednesday, Assistant Commissioner, Khar, district Bajaur Faisal Ismail was martyred in a bomb blast in the Bajaur tribal.

The attack occurred near the Sadiqabad Phatak area of Nawagai Tehsil when his vehicle was targeted.

Faisal Ismail was a highly respected, intelligent, and dedicated officer. He began his academic journey at Cadet College Kohat and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geo-Informatics Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).

After successfully passing the Provincial Management Service (PMS) exam, he joined the civil service of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where he held several administrative roles throughout his career.

Most recently, he was serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Nawagai Tehsil in Bajaur, a sensitive region along the Afghan border known for ongoing security challenges.

His duties included maintaining law and order, resolving local disputes, overseeing development projects, and coordinating with security forces.

Known for his soft-spoken demeanor and public-friendly attitude, he was admired by colleagues and the local community alike.

The bomb blast also claimed the lives of Nawagai Tehsildar, a Subedar (junior commissioned army officer), and a police constable.

The attack has been widely condemned by political leaders and civil society, who have called for swift justice and stronger measures to secure the region.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to apprehend those responsible. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

Faisal Ismail’s martyrdom is being mourned across the province, with tributes pouring in for his service, dedication, and sacrifice.
