ISLAMABAD, Jul 01 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory) ICT) Police arrested nine suspects from Tarnol, Humak, and Aabpara areas, recovering 838 grams of heroin, a pistol, and ammunition from their possession, as part of a sustained crackdown against criminal elements in the federal capital.
An official told APP that cases have been registered against the accused, and further investigations are in progress to trace their criminal networks and possible accomplices.
He said that during a special campaign launched to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, five more criminals were arrested by different police teams.
He said the operations were conducted under the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, with a focus on eliminating drug peddlers, illegal arms carriers, and repeat offenders from the city.
IG Rizvi said the Islamabad Police are fully committed to maintaining law and order and safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens, adding that no leniency will be shown to those disrupting public peace.
