SUKKUR, Jul 01 (APP): Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Sukkur zone, Captain Retired Faisal Abdullah Chachar, on Tuesday has revealed that stringent security measures are in place for the 1,947 mourning processions scheduled to take place in Khairpur district on the 10th of Muharram. Over 4,000 police officials, including 100 female constables, will be deployed to ensure the safe and peaceful conduct of these processions.
The areas surrounding the procession routes will be cordoned off, with ambulances, bomb disposal squads, and fire brigades stationed along the routes. This security deployment aims to provide a secure environment for the mourners and prevent any potential disruptions.
Similar security arrangements have been made in Sukkur, Ghotki and other towns where a number of police personnel will be deployed to secure mourning processions and majalis during till the Ashura.
The DIG Sukkur emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order during Muharram, with strict action to be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the peace. The security measures are part of a comprehensive plan to ensure public safety and prevent any sectarian tensions.
