Utilizing data spanning from 2000 to 2022, his research demonstrated that while natural disasters typically exert a negative impact on the economy in the short term, they may result in some positive long-term outcomes, such as improved infrastructure and increased resilience.
The study also found that migration and tourism following natural disasters produce mixed effects, depending on specific regional and temporal contexts.
Additionally, the research explored the interconnected relationship between environmental conditions, energy consumption, and economic growth, offering valuable insights for policymakers focused on sustainable development in disaster-prone regions.
