Khanewal, Jun 30 (APP):A monsoon tree plantation campaign is actively underway in district Khanewal.
In this regard, a key meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Salma Suleman at the DC Office to review preparations for the campaign. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ghulam Mustafa and other officials attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Salma Suleman said that tree plantation is a priority task as per the directives of the Punjab government. She instructed the Forest Department to supply saplings to schools and colleges as per their demand. The DC directed that the purchase of plants for the monsoon plantation drive should be made from school and college council funds. She also stated that the data of plant demand should be shared with the DC Office for effective coordination and directed departments concerned to share a detailed plan regarding plantation along NHA and Highway greenbelts. Moreover, she stressed that seasonal plants should be planted strictly in accordance with the advisory issued by the Forest Department.
