11 bodies recovered from Swat River, anti-encroachment drive launched

PESHAWAR, Jun 29 (APP):Rescue divers have recovered bodies of 11 individuals who drowned in Swat River, with operations continuing to locate two more missing persons. This update comes as authorities concurrently launch an extensive anti-encroachment drive along riverbanks.
Faraz Ahmed Mughal, spokesman for Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, shared these details with journalists during his visit to Swat on Sunday.
He stated that erection of fencing along Swat River’s banks has begun, and a joint effort by district administration, police, and relevant authorities will see indiscriminate anti-encroachment operations conducted across Swat district.
Mughal further emphasized a complete ban on illegal mining activities along Swat River. He also warned that no one would be permitted to establish encroachments in any tourist areas.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122 confirmed that their divers have retrieved 11 of the 13 drowned individuals, with efforts ongoing to find the remaining two.
