SUKKUR, Jun 28 (APP):A capacity-building workshop on “Social Accountability Tools for Good Governance” organized by Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with Bhitai Social Watch and Advocacy (BSWA) and SALU was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur on Saturday.
The workshop brought together civil society organizations, women-based organizations and youth leaders to discuss the importance of social accountability in promoting transparent governance.
Vice Chancellor SALU Dr. Yousuf Khushk, emphasized that social accountability is crucial for strengthening democratic values and service delivery.
He outlined four key priorities for improving governance in Khairpur, including strengthening local government accountability, enhancing public service monitoring, promoting digital tools for community feedback, and ensuring inclusive participation of women and youth in decision-making processes.
Deputy Commissioner Khairpur, Fayaz Rahujo, also addressed the importance of such workshops for institutional transparency, rule of law and merit-based appointments.
The workshop concluded with a commitment to promoting ethical governance, citizen empowerment and institutional accountability.
