Commissioner visits Imambargahs, reviews arrangements

LAHORE, Jun 28 (APP):Lahore Divisional Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood, on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is inspecting arrangements at various Imambargahs across the city as Muharram-ul-Haram commences.
In this connection, he visited Imambargah Abul Fazl Al-Abbas in Mughalpura and Imambargah Panjtan Pak in Ghaziabad to review the ongoing administrative, security, and municipal arrangements.
During the visits, Assistant Commissioner Shalamar and senior police officials briefed the Commissioner on the measures implemented at both Imambargahs. He also inspected the routes designated for Muharram processions in these areas.
The district administration and relevant departments informed the Commissioner that all essential arrangements have been completed. These include central monitoring units, rescue and medical services, lighting, temporary public toilets, and other key municipal services. Continuous coordination is being maintained with Imambargah administrators and license holders to ensure smooth and secure observance of Muharram events.
Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood met with the administrators and license holders of both Imambargahs, who expressed satisfaction over the support and arrangements provided by the district administration.
Talking to the media, the Commissioner said that the Punjab government is fully committed to ensuring peaceful and well-organized Muharram observances. “All necessary facilities along procession routes and in central Imambargahs are being provided in line with government SOPs,” he added. “We are conducting daily reviews to address any emerging needs promptly.” He further emphasized that strict adherence to the approved timings of Majalis and processions must be ensured. He also directed that WASA and municipal corporation mobile teams remain deployed around the clock at all key locations to prevent any drainage-related issues.
