RAWALPINDI, Jun 28 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani on Saturday has taken notice of a double murder incident in the Jatli area and directed Superintendent of Police Saddar to submit a detailed report.
SP Saddar Muhammad Nabil Khokhar, along with Assistant Superintendent of Police Gujjar Khan and a police team, reached the crime scene to investigate the matter. A suspect has been taken into custody.
According to preliminary investigation, the accused allegedly killed a man a day earlier and then murdered his wife the following night, reportedly in the name of honor. Police are gathering evidence and securing all relevant material from the area. The bodies of both victims have been shifted to a nearby hospital for postmortem.
The police spokesman said that a fair and thorough investigation would be conducted and the accused would be punished according to law.
