RAWALPINDI, Jun 27 (APP): The Divisional Coordination Committee (DCC), which met with Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Amir Khattak in the chair on Friday, reviewed law and order, cleanliness, security and other arrangements being taken for Muharram-ul-Haram.
The meeting was attended by Director Coordination Syed Nazarat Ali, Director Local Government Sibtain Kazmi and officers of other relevant departments, including deputy commissioners of Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal and Murree through video link.
Commissioner Khattak directed the deputy commissioners to ensure all arrangements for peaceful observance of Muharram were in place.
He further directed that all machinery, necessary equipment and relevant staff should be available at all times to deal with emergency situations.
He said that all assistant commissioners should be directed to personally visit the routes of processions, places of gatherings and other important places, and review all arrangements.
The commissioner also directed to inspect the control rooms and ensure their full functionality and that the process of monitoring staff attendance and performance should be continue regularly.
“If there is any deficiency or need for additional support at any place, it should be informed immediately so that timely steps can be taken,” he added.
He directed all the officers to perform their duties with full responsibility, and all-out efforts should be made for maintaining law and order, and providing civic facilities and cleanliness.
