BEIJING, Jun 27 (APP): China, up to now, has implemented nearly 430 assistance projects in relevant member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), with more than 40 projects currently underway, Li Ming, spokesman of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) said on Friday.
About 40 projects of foreign concern are being actively promoted, involving key areas such as poverty reduction, infrastructure construction, scientific and technological innovation, information and communication, agriculture, health, and education, effectively promoting the socio-economic development and improvement of people’s livelihoods in recipient countries, he said during a press conference held here.
Under the human resources development training program, more than 30,000 talents of various types have been trained for relevant member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, he added.
Li Ming said that China attaches great importance to actively carrying out multilateral and bilateral development assistance cooperation with relevant countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, constantly improving the quality and efficiency of cooperation, better benefiting people of all countries and promoting common development.
In recent years, China has fully utilized various resources such as bilateral aid, the Global Development and South South Cooperation Fund, and the Global Development Initiative Special Fund to coordinate the promotion of landmark projects and “small and beautiful” livelihood projects, he added.
