LAHORE, Jun 27 (APP): A sessions court on Friday acquitted a rickshaw driver in the murder case of traffic warden Ali Raza, citing lack of evidence.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Asad Hafeez announced the verdict, acquitting the accused, Mustafa Talat, who had been nominated as the prime suspect in the case.
During the trial proceedings, defence counsel presented evidence supporting the accused’s innocence. The prosecution, despite presenting 15 witnesses, failed to establish Mustafa Talat’s involvement in the crime.
The case was registered following the fatal incident in Lahore’s Garden Town, where traffic warden Ali Raza was killed. Mustafa Talat had been arrested and charged as the main accused.
