PESHAWAR, Jun 27 (APP):Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, on Friday called on Muslims from all schools of thought to embrace unity, harmony, and brotherhood as the sacred month begins.
Highlighting the significance of Muharram in Islamic history, the Governor said it is a month that symbolizes sacrifice, patience, truthfulness, and resistance against oppression.
“The tragedy of Karbala teaches us that standing by truth and principles, no matter the cost, is the path to true success,” he said.
Governor Kundi appealed to religious scholars, speakers, and the public to uphold the sanctity of Muharram by promoting tolerance and sectarian harmony.
He warned that anti-state elements might attempt to exploit the situation to create unrest and emphasized the need for mutual respect and unity among all sects.
He also directed the concerned departments to take effective measures to ensure peace and security during Muharram so that citizens can perform their religious rituals in a safe and peaceful environment.
Kundi prayed that the holy month of Muharram brings peace, security, and brotherhood to Pakistan.
