SNGPL Ramadan squash championship

LAHORE, Jun 07 (APP):The second edition of SNGPL Ramadan squash championship will swing into action here from Friday (tomorrow) at PSA complex.
“Players from across the province will be featuring in the event which aims at promoting squash at grass-roots level,” said a spokesman for the Punjab Squash Association while talking to APP on Thursday.
He said players would be displaying their talent and technique in U11, U13, U15, U17, U19 and men’s senior category.
“We have divided the competition in different age groups in order to provide equal opportunities to junior players,” he said adding “PSA is laying special emphasis on grooming of young players and that is
why we are organising a number of tournaments round the year for junior players.”
He expressed his gratitude to the SNGPL for promoting squash and supplementing the efforts of the PSA for the cause of the game in the province. He also urged the business houses to come forward and provide financial assistance to the PSA to help expand the base of the game.
“We have organised a lot of events during the current year and we will continue our efforts for further uplift of the game,” he added.
Asim Amin, a senior squash official, will be the tournament referee. The finals will be played on June 10.
