ISLAMABAD, Jun 26 (APP):Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing science and technology sector in Balochistan.
He was speaking during a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Loralai, Professor Dr. Ihsanullah Kakar held to discuss collaboration in scientific and technological development.
During the meeting held in the university’s premises in Loralai, the federal minister expressed his firm commitment to promoting science and technology in the region, said a news release.
He assured full support from the federal government for establishing setups related to Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at the university. “We will provide all possible resources to foster modern technology in the university,” said Magsi, adding that the promotion of scientific education would pave new paths of development for Balochistan.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the minister on the university’s successful olive plantation project, carried out over 200 acres of land. Khalid Hussain Magsi termed olive cultivation a sustainable solution to water scarcity in the region and lauded the university’s efforts.
He assured that the Ministry of Science and Technology would work in collaboration with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) to ensure water conservation. “Environmental protection and scientific progress remain top priorities of the government,” the minister emphasized.
Magsi reiterated that joint efforts between the University of Loralai and the Ministry would significantly enhance education and research opportunities across Balochistan.
