ISLAMABAD, Jun 25 (APP):The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) on Wednesday welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, hoping that it would bring stability in the region.
President ECI has ordered the phase wise resumption of activities in ECI.
According to the Liaqat Ali, spokesman for the ECO Cultural Institute, all ECI employees and their families are safe and sound.
He said that right on the first day of the conflict, the ECI had closed its offices, suspended cultural activities and exhibitions, and ordered the staff to work from home. All the international and non-Iranian staff was evacuated to their home countries.
The President ECI, Saad S Khan, himself a Pakistani national, and all four employees from Pakistan, along with their family members, 21 in all, are safe and sound in Pakistan.
President ECI thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan, for successful evacuation operation for those ECI officials and their families who were stranded in Tehran at the start of the war.
The ECI will phase wise resume its operations after the 17th ECO Summit conference scheduled for Baku, Azerbaijan, next week.
It is worth mentioning here that the specialized agency of the ten-member Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), based in Tehran.
