ISLAMABAD, Jun 6 (APP):The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) has successfully enrolled 936 students in 40 Madrassa Schools established in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Talking to APP, NCHD official, Rai Riaz Hussain said that NCHD had launched ‘Madrassa School Project’ to bring seminaries in the mainstream and to provide formal education to the madrassa students in ICT, Tribal Areas, Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
He said the current number of enrollment at the Madrassa Schools, in the capital, was a success and the project aimed at encouraging Madrassas (religious seminaries) to introduce Science, Math’s, Social Studies and English in their curriculum so that the academic proficiency for class I-V should be enhanced in the target areas.
Rai Riaz said that the teachers teaching in the seminaries had been appointed through proper interview and selection process.
He said the teachers of the same gender as of students were teaching in the seminary.
He said it was need of the hour to bring about quantitative and qualitative improvement in the students of Deeni Madrassas enabling them to attain standards of National Education System.
The religious seminaries’ students had no better option left to continue their studies except teaching in Madrassas and mosques.
The program would help to improve their qualification standard and provide better career opportunities, he added.
