PHA DG visits Greater Iqbal Park, reviews facilities, security

LAHORE, Jun 22 (APP): Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore Director General Mansoor Ahmad conducted a surprise inspection of Greater Iqbal Park to review the condition of public amenities, recreational services, and security arrangements.
He was accompanied by Director Administration Soulat Hayat Watto, who briefed him on the park’s overall administrative operations.
During the visit, the DG carried out a detailed inspection of swings, seating areas, food and beverage stalls, and the security infrastructure. He issued on-site directions to the staff, emphasizing the need to further upgrade public facilities and strengthen security measures to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for both citizens and tourists.
DG Mansoor Ahmad also visited the National History Museum, located within the park. The museum administration provided an overview of visitor footfall, feedback, and the functioning of the digital information system. He commended the museum’s exhibits, including historic artifacts, photographs, and digital installations, highlighting their importance in preserving and showcasing Pakistan’s national heritage.
Expressing satisfaction over the overall management of the park and museum, the DG reiterated that maintaining high standards in public recreational spaces is a top priority for the Authority. “In a historic and culturally rich city like Lahore, it is our duty to offer quality recreational opportunities and promote tourism through the upkeep of well-maintained public spaces,” he said.
