LAHORE, Jun 20 (APP): The government has announced the installation of water filtration plants in government schools at a cost of 12 billion.
According to School Education Department (SED) sources, funds of 20 to 25 lakhs per school will be provided for water filtration plants, residents of the area will also be able to get clean water from the filtration plant, taps will be installed outside the school to provide clean water.
The sources further said that expensive water filtration plants will be installed if the quality of water deteriorates, and schools will be shifted to solarisation to run water filtration plants.
The Education Department sources further informed APP that so far more than one thousand schools have been shifted to solar.
