CAIRO, Jun 20 (APP): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Aamir Shouket, visited the renowned Naguib Mahfouz Studio in Cairo on Friday, where he was received by prominent Egyptian author and head of the National Media Authority, Ahmed Al-Muslimani and both the dignitaries explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in the field of media and cultural exchange.
According to a statement shared by the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo on platform X, the meeting centered around translating popular Egyptian dramas into Urdu, Pakistan’s national language and one of the top ten most spoken languages in the world. This initiative is part of the Egyptian authority’s vision to reach broader audiences and promote regional cultural exchange.
In response, Ambassador Aamir Shouket proposed broadcasting these Urdu-dubbed Egyptian dramas on Pakistan’s national television, expressing strong interest in building cultural bridges through storytelling and entertainment.
During the visit, Ahmed Al-Muslimani presented Ambassador Shouket with a music album of legendary singer “Star of the East” Umm Kulthum, produced by Cairo Voice Company under the authority’s media wing. The ambassador praised the studio’s impressive view overlooking the **Nile River and the Pyramids**, symbolizing Egypt’s rich history and cultural depth.
Ambassador Shouket also lauded the long-standing historical ties between Pakistan and Egypt, acknowledging the Egyptian state’s positive role in promoting peace and prosperity in the region.
