Suspect involved in human smuggling and visa fraud arrested in Mansehra

ABBOTTABAD, Jun 18 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Headquarters Islamabad, has announced the arrest of a suspect involved in human smuggling and visa fraud. The action was taken by the FIA Composite Circle Abbottabad during a targeted raid on an illegal travel agency here on Wednesday.
According to FIA officials, the raid led to the arrest of a man identified as Abdul Shakoor. He was apprehended at the Mansehra Bus Terminal for his alleged involvement in deceiving citizens by offering them false promises of overseas employment, particularly in Saudi Arabia. The suspect reportedly defrauded nine individuals, collecting a total sum of 2.9 million rupees under the guise of securing them jobs abroad.
Despite receiving the money, the suspect failed to fulfill his promises, leaving the victims without employment or any form of compensation. During the raid, the FIA team recovered seven passports from Abdul Shakoor, along with visa processing stamp papers and a forged authority letter purportedly issued by the SHO Excise and Narcotics.
Authorities revealed that the suspect could not provide a satisfactory explanation for the recovered documents and passports. He has been taken into custody, and a formal investigation has been launched to trace further links and possible accomplices involved in the scam.
