HYDERABAD, Jun 13 (APP):Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam has taken significant steps to strengthen its academic infrastructure through the inauguration of modern classrooms and upgraded laboratory facilities aimed at fostering a more dynamic and technology-enabled teaching and learning environment.
The newly developed facilities include smart classrooms equipped with advanced multimedia and audio systems, enabling more interactive, student-centered and digitally driven instruction. In parallel, university laboratories have been modernized with cutting-edge scientific equipment to enhance practical learning and applied research capabilities.
The newly constructed lecture hall at the Faculty of Social Sciences was jointly inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal and former Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri.
The SAU spokesperson informed that the initiative forms a key component of the project titled “Strengthening of Academic and Research Facilities at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam”, generously funded by the Government of Sindh.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Altaf Ali Siyal emphasized the SAU vision to align academic programs with evolving market demands and international benchmarks. “Globally, higher education institutions are realigning curricula to produce a skilled workforce for the modern economy. At SAU, we are introducing new degree programs and simultaneously transforming our classrooms to reflect contemporary academic and technological needs,” he stated.
He further noted that the integration of smart classrooms has positioned SAU to establish stronger academic linkages with national and international institutions, offering students expanded access to global knowledge and collaborative opportunities. Dr. Siyal extended his gratitude to the Government of Sindh for its consistent support, acknowledging that such progressive initiatives are made possible through sustained provincial investment and strategic backing.
Former Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri commended the pace of progress at SAU, describing the university’s development trajectory as “bold and timely.”
The ceremony was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Dr. Aijaz Ali Khoonharo, Registrar Ghulam Mohiuddin Qureshi, senior faculty members, professors and heads of various academic and administrative departments.
