Grants released for Punjab bar associations

MUZAFFARGARH, Jun 13 (APP):Provincial Law Minister Malik Sohaib has said that for the first time in the province’s history, grants have been awarded to bar associations across Punjab without any discrimination.
This was revealed by president of the local bar association, Qayyum Khan Dasti, and general secretary, Faheem Bhatti, while speaking to the media on Friday. They said the grant cheques were distributed during a ceremony held in Lahore.
According to the office-bearers, the Muzaffargarh Bar Association received a cheque of Rs 5 million. Additionally, the tehsil bar associations of Kot Addu, Jatoi, and Alipur were each awarded cheques of Rs 2.5 million.
Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Ajmal Khan Chadiya added that he had requested the law minister to approve the establishment of a lawyers’ colony in Muzaffargarh. He said the minister had assured him that work on the proposal would begin soon.
The MPA further remarked that the fair and transparent distribution of grants to district and tehsil bar associations reflects the progressive and inclusive vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
