Sargodha University students shine in Chinese Bridge competition

SARGODHA, Jun 13 (APP):Students from the University of Sargodha (UoS) have brought pride to the nation by securing top positions in the prestigious “All Pakistan Chinese Bridge Competition 2025,” organised by the Chinese Language and Education Centre, Beijing. Their outstanding performance not only demonstrated academic excellence but also underscored the role of cultural diplomacy in enhancing Pakistan-China relations.
Held online in two phases, the national-level competition attracted participants from Confucius Institutes across Pakistani universities. The first phase featured a speech contest under the theme “One World, One Family,” while the second phase highlighted traditional Chinese arts including music, calligraphy, painting, and Tai Chi.
Ayesha Rafiqat, a student at the Confucius Institute, University of Sargodha, stood out by securing third place in both the speech and music categories. Her achievements are a testament to the high-quality linguistic and artistic training offered at UoS.
In addition, students Lab and Jaweria Iqbal were awarded certificates of appreciation and prizes for their impressive contributions, further enhancing the university’s reputation on the national stage.
UoS TV, the university’s dynamic media team, also received a cash award for its efforts in promoting the event and showcasing the students’ accomplishments, playing a vital role in amplifying their success.
University vice chancellor expressed great pride in the students, noting that their accomplishments reflect the university’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural exchange. He reaffirmed UoS’s dedication to fostering Pakistan-China friendship through similar initiatives in the future.
Echoing these sentiments, the Director of the Confucius Institute remarked that the achievement aligns with their mission to bring the two nations closer through language and cultural understanding. He commended the students’ dedication, talent, and creativity.
