BALAKOT, Jun 13 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Khalid Iqbal and District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra Shafiullah Gandapur Friday conducted a detailed inspection of ongoing Chinese development projects in the Balakot Division to assess and strengthen security arrangements for Chinese experts and staff.
The high-level visit included visit of various project sites and camps where the officials reviewed current security protocols in place for Chinese engineers and personnel. The purpose of the visit was to ensure comprehensive protection and identify areas for improvement.
During the inspection of the main Chinese camp, SP Special Security Unit (SSU) Niaz Khan, DSP SSU Sabir Khan, project in-charges, security officers, and representatives from relevant departments were present. The project administration and Chinese experts provided detailed briefings on existing security measures and challenges.
In meetings with Pakistan Army officers, Chinese professionals, and administrative staff, both DC and DPO emphasized the need for robust coordination and seamless communication between all security stakeholders.
DPO Shafiullah Gandapur reaffirmed that providing foolproof security to Chinese nationals remains a top priority for Mansehra Police. He directed on-duty officers to ensure close liaison with Chinese staff, enforce security protocols strictly, and enhance inter-departmental cooperation for an integrated security network.
DC Khalid Iqbal assured project officials of full support from the district administration. “The participation of Chinese experts in Pakistan’s development is a matter of national pride, and their safety is a shared responsibility,” he said.
At the end of the visit, Chinese representatives expressed appreciation for the security arrangements and praised the responsiveness and professionalism of local security personnel.
