Govt. allocates Rs. 11,553.835.mln for Defence Division in PSDP 2025–26

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs.11,553.835 million for the Defence Division in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2025–26.
 Out of the total amount, Rs11,403.835 million has been allocated for ongoing projects, while Rs150 million is reserved for new schemes, said a budgetary document released on Tuesday .
Among the ongoing projects, Rs200 million has been allocated for building the Rain Water Harvesting Kasana Dam at Islamabad Airport, and Rs400 million for the new Gwadar International Airport project.
 Additionally, Rs2,998 million will go towards upgrading the hydromet services of the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), while Rs758.562 million has been set aside for the NIHD Centre of Excellence for Preventive Cardiovascular Research and Development (NEPCARD).
The government will also spend Rs800 million to purchase land from the CDA for setting up a Medical City at the National University of Medical Sciences (Phase-I), and Rs920.545 million for developing a new national geodetic datum for Pakistan.
Other allocations include Rs130 million for an unmanned aerial vehicle system to assist in law enforcement, emergency response, and pollution control, and Rs247.870 million for the development of emerging technologies.
For new projects, Rs100 million has been allocated for the Quantum Valley Pakistan initiative, and Rs50 million for upgrading and expanding the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) and NIHD in Rawalpindi.
