ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs. 1,676 million for National Heritage and Culture Division in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26 for various cultural preservation and development projects across the country.
According to the budgetary document issued on Tuesday, an amount of Rs. 352.074 million has been allocated for the four ongoing schemes while Rs. 1,324 million has been earmarked for the four new schemes.
The highest allocation among ongoing projects has been made for the construction of Faiz Ahmed Faiz Complex in Narowal, which receives Rs. 250 million this year. This cultural center will honor the renowned poet’s legacy.
Significant funding of Rs. 60 million has been approved for the construction of National Museum of Pakistan and DOAM office building at Shakarparian, Islamabad.
The Master Plan for Conservation, Preservation and Development of Shah Allah Ditta Caves received Rs. 32.074 million in the current fiscal year.
The Research and Development Centre at Department of Archaeology and Museums gets Rs. 10 million allocation this year.
Among the new schemes, the flagship initiative is the Designing and Construction of Iqbal National Monument and Library Complex in Islamabad, which received the largest single allocation of Rs. 750 million.
The Revamping/Renovation of Aiwan-e-Nawardat-e-Quaid-i-Azam (Quaid’s Museum) at Mazar-e-Quaid, Karachi has been allocated Rs. 295 million.
For the Establishment of Allama Iqbal Culture and Research Center in Sialkot, the government has approved Rs. 250 million in initial funding.
The Establishment of National Cultural Heritage Institute of Pakistan in Islamabad received Rs. 29.000 million in initial funding.
These allocations demonstrate the government’s commitment to preserving Pakistan’s cultural heritage while creating modern facilities for research and public engagement. The projects are expected to boost cultural tourism and provide platforms for showcasing Pakistan’s rich history and literary traditions.
