BOUREWALA, Jun 09 (APP): Three animal brokers lost their lives after coming into contact with hanging electric wires in two separate incidents involving trucks, rescue officials said.
The victims were riding on two different trucks when they accidentally touched the low-hanging wires.
The first incident occurred near 493/EB village, where around five animal brokers were returning home after selling livestock.
Their vehicle struck high-voltage wires, resulting in the on-spot deaths of Abrar and Ghaffar, both residents of KB/50.
In a separate incident in the same area, truck driver Mohsin Ali, a resident of 435/EB, was electrocuted after his vehicle came into contact with the hanging wires.
Following the incidents, locals of 493/EB launched a protest and demanded that MEPCO take immediate notice and remove the hazardous dangling wires to prevent further tragedies.
Rescue officials informed the police, and the bodies were handed over to the families after completion of legal formalities.
