LAHORE, Jun 08 (APP): Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) had distributed 1.4 million eco-friendly waste bags in a bid to meet the post Eidul Azha Grand Cleanliness Challenge.
A comprehensive cleaning operation plan was under way on the second day of Eid to ensure a clean environment and timely waste collection during three days of Eid.
LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din while talking to APP informed that he himself was actively supervising the cleaning operation.
He said that the LWMC control room, 291 service delivery camps,105 temporary collection points, and five dumping sites were fully functional for 24-hour with live monitoring.
To a query Babar Sahib Din said that over 15,000 staff members, including 10,000 sanitary workers, 3,000 drivers, and 2,000 support staff, was busy in eco-campaign in three shifts to maintain cleanliness.
All LWMC vehicles and machinery, including 3,430 pick-ups, 328 excavators, 551 trolleys, 233 loaders, and 924 dumpers, were successfully carrying out operation during three days of Eid.
